Portia’s career in the fitness industry began at 15, working reception at a local gym and she’s been in the fitness industry ever since. Portia has been a group exercise leader, personal trainer and aerobic competitor. She is certified as an Exercise Leader by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Portia is also a certified Yoga Instructor and completed the STOTT Pilates Intensive Mat and Reformer training and the ACSM Wellness Coaching course.
In addition to working in fitness, Portia is a Registered Nurse and designed fitness programs and healthy lifestyle education for patients facing enormous health challenges.
Portia has gleaned the best ideas from all of the gyms, wellness centres and medical organizations she’s ever had the pleasure to work with and has brought all of that thinking to Generate where she marries her values with her passion for spreading health and wellness.

We’re outdoorsy types and love High Park. Join us for walking groups and fitness classes in the park enabling you to reap the benefits of connecting to the natural world.
We provide an unsupervised playroom for children 5 years and older as a courtesy for our members. Visits are a maximum of 75 minutes and parents must remain in the studio. Reservations are required, we can accommodate a maximum of 5 children at a time.
Here’s the topper. Our bikes and ellipticals capture human energy and transform it into off-grid “green” power that we use to operate our space. We are proud to be the first gym in Toronto to have these amazing energy generators.
