Fitness Week at Generate

This week at Generate, we’re celebrating our biggest passion: fitness! From nutrition to high quality sleep, there are several components of good health, but there’s no doubt that exercise is the most fun pillar of them all.

Regular exercise has been known to increase feelings of happiness, decrease excess weight and keep several health markers such as blood sugar and cholesterol in check. It’s our belief that a varied exercise regime including cardio, strength training and stretching can do wonders for almost every area of your life, which is why we’re so eager to share our favourite workouts with you!

Every day this week, we’ll be featuring a different exercise and why we love it. From rowing to barre and everything in between, we’ve got all your workout needs covered from head to toe.

To get started, here are a few of the most awesome benefits of exercising:

1. Increased energy. Cardio workouts like speed-walking or jogging help to bring fresh oxygen to your brain and improve your heart and lung health. As you build endurance, everyday tasks like walking up the stairs or playing with your kids will feel easier and more fun!

2. Weight control. Daily workouts will help you torch more calories (even while you sleep!) and keep your weight under control. As you build more muscle, your body will automatically burn calories more easily to keep you slim and trim.

3. Exercise combats disease. Whether you’re suffering from type 2 diabetes or heart disease, working out regularly can help keep a wide variety of illnesses at bay.
